Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. 1Manages all cargo operations, stability calculations, and ballast water management.
2. 2Supervises deck maintenance programs including painting, cleaning, and equipment upkeep.
3. 3Responsible for navigation watch-keeping and bridge operations during assigned watches.
4. 4Maintains and updates all nautical charts, publications, and navigation equipment.
5. 5Plans and executes mooring and unmooring operations at all ports of call.
6. 6Conducts safety inspections of lifesaving and firefighting equipment.
7. 7Trains and supervises junior officers, cadets, and deck ratings.
8. 8Manages the vessel's stability by monitoring fuel, water, and ballast distribution.
9. 9Ensures compliance with SOLAS regulations for all safety equipment.
10. 10Coordinates with the Bosun for daily deck work assignments and priorities.
