Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. 1Assists engineers and oilers in the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
2. 2Monitors machinery during watch periods and reports abnormalities to the Engineer on watch.
3. 3Performs routine checks on pumps, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
4. 4Assists with fuel and lubricating oil transfer operations.
5. 5Helps maintain cleanliness of engine room spaces and workshops.
6. 6Assists with maintenance of lifeboats, emergency generators, and safety equipment.
7. 7Learns engine room procedures, safety protocols, and maintenance techniques.
8. 8Supports the Oiler in daily greasing and lubrication routines.
