Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. 1Manages all electrical systems including power generation, distribution, and lighting.
2. 2Maintains and troubleshoots automation, PLC, and control systems throughout the vessel.
3. 3Performs maintenance on navigation and communication electronics (radar, ECDIS, GMDSS).
4. 4Oversees high-voltage switchboard operations and safety procedures.
5. 5Maintains entertainment systems, galley equipment, and HVAC electrical components.
6. 6Programs and troubleshoots PLC and SCADA systems for machinery automation.
7. 7Maintains battery systems, UPS units, and emergency power supplies.
8. 8Conducts electrical safety testing including insulation resistance and earth fault monitoring.
9. 9Manages the electrical spare parts inventory and procurement.
10. 10Trains junior electricians and engine ratings on electrical safety procedures.
