Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. 1Plans, organizes, and conducts all shipboard safety drills including fire, abandon ship, and man overboard.
2. 2Inspects and maintains all firefighting equipment, lifesaving appliances, and safety gear.
3. 3Investigates all accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents and prepares detailed reports.
4. 4Conducts regular safety rounds and inspections throughout the vessel.
5. 5Develops and updates the ship's emergency procedures and contingency plans.
6. 6Provides safety training and orientation for new crew members.
7. 7Maintains the Safety Management System (SMS) documentation and records.
8. 8Ensures compliance with SOLAS, ISM Code, and company safety policies.
9. 9Conducts risk assessments for all hazardous operations onboard.
10. 10Liaises with port state control inspectors and classification society surveyors.
