Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. 1Keep a proper lookout on the bridge during watch, spotting other vessels, obstacles, and signals
2. 2Report all sightings to the Officer of the Watch promptly and clearly
3. 3Act as helmsman and steer the vessel on the officer's orders when assigned
4. 4Patrol the ship for safety during night watches and while in port
5. 5Assist with gangway watch and control access on and off the vessel
6. 6Support safety drills and carry out assigned muster-list duties in emergencies
