Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. 1Cleans and maintains engine room spaces, bilges, and workshop areas.
2. 2Wipes down machinery, removes oil spills, and maintains general cleanliness.
3. 3Assists oilers and motormen with basic maintenance tasks.
4. 4Disposes of oily rags, waste oil, and other engine room waste properly.
5. 5Prepares tools and materials for maintenance and repair work.
6. 6Assists with painting, chipping, and surface preparation in the engine room.
7. 7Learns basic machinery operation and maintenance under supervision.
8. 8Participates in safety drills and follows all engine room safety procedures.
